Southie Autonomy

Focus: Hardware or Software, Software. While robotics is a highly integrated hardware and software system, Southie focuses on the software side of robots as this is where the bulk of the adoption gaps can be solved. Today’s hardware is highly optimized and robust, but it requires so much NRE to get working. So, Southie aims to reduce the complexity and skill required to deploy and changeover robots, creating a new way to see ROI on robots. A multi-purpose, no-code robotic system that line operators can use and reuse. included every autonomous system you could think of, from underwater robots to aerial drones to joint R&D with MIT and Harvard to advance autonomous mobile manipulation. As engineers we built autonomous systems that would satisfy the user’s mission and the user knew what they wanted the system to do, but there was a disconnect in how the user directed and understood what the system was doing. Basically, there was a fundamental gap that we later learned was an adoption gap between user and robotic system. It turns out that you can use that same exact lens to look at the industrial robotics sector and you’ll find the same exact problem. There is a huge gap between the people who want to use robots (e.g. warehouse workers and operators) and who can actually deploy robotic systems (e.g. automation engineers). So, Southie has created a new way for humans and robots to talk to other (i.e. at the task level instead of instructions). The result is we’ve bridged the gap by letting operations users task robots at the operational level, instead of at the engineering level.

Rhoman Aerospace

Rhoman Aerospace is combining cutting edge control systems, environmental mapping data-share, and machine-learning tuning to create the autonomous aerial infrastructure needed for our future cities – not to mention making every US drone safer and more power efficient during flight.

We are developing one flight control software solution that applies to every drone – and connects to the Rhoman Cloud for enhanced optimization and autonomy. Our solution allows more energy-efficient flight, enables capabilities and missions not possible with current control systems, and reduces months of custom engineering and tuning to days. By combining machine learning with analytically solved control equations, we create a dynamic control solution that removes software, flight control, and regulatory barriers to enable the next frontier of drone aviation.

Jacobi Robotics

Increasing ROI of industrial robots in logistics and manufacturing applications by providing off-the-shelf motion planning software with compute + motion speed superior to any existing solution, offering higher throughput and reduced deployment time.

idealworks GmbH

As a deep-tech company and 100% BMW Group subsidiary, idealworks has been enabling the logistics of the future by providing the most flexible and scalable robotics ecosystem since November 2020. Having come about as a result of a forward-thinking planning condition within the BMW Group’s Logistics department back in 2015, our company combines numerous years of valuable experience and expertise in the field of smart, reliable intralogistics solutions. When BMW Group was awarded the German Logistics Award 2019 for its project Logistics Next, which included one of our core products, we saw a huge boost in terms of autonomous robots with national and international companies from all kinds of different industries and branches showing interest in exploring our solutions built for both the challenging environment and limitations of automotive logistics to meet common needs and to squeeze out greater efficiency.
At idealworks, we enable holistic robotics ecosystems, consisting of two key components: Our central cloud platform AnyFleet is connecting our fleet of robots and third-party devices as well as computer systems and IoT devices such as doors, sensors, and traffic lights, but also WMS and ERP systems. Based on VDA 5050, AnyFleet is acting as a fleet management system allowing for live monitoring of all integrated devices, systems, and vehicles, handling complex traffic situations. Our CE-certified autonomous mobile robot, the iw.hub, is another integral part of our solutions portfolio. Using SLAM, the AMR navigates autonomously and is able to operate safely in highly complex environments, covering a wide range of individual customer needs. We embrace innovation, through in-house development and partnerships, seizing opportunities and fostering our competitive advantage, being on a clear mission creating real impact, running productively with more than 300 units in use at customer sites from a variety of industries.

Energy Robotics

The concept behind Energy Robotics started at the Technical University of Darmstadt with “Team Hector”. There, we won numerous awards for our pioneering work in the field of autonomous inspection robots. In 2017, our team decisively won the international ARGOS Challenge organized by the French Oil and Gas giant, Total. This was the first-ever recognized prototype of an autonomous ground robot capable of carrying out complex remote inspections and monitoring missions aboard oil and gas platforms. We were showered with glowing words of praise from all quarters for showcasing the potential of Germany in being the centre of AI and Robotics.

Our success at the ARGOS Challenge sparked the idea of creating a business out of our software. It laid the foundations for the successful application of robot software for industrial inspections.

Airbotics

Airbotics is an open-source software deployment platform for robotics. It is a self-hosted, secure, software deployment platform built on Uptane and OSTree designed to work for any fleet size and integrate with the hardware and software used in robotics.

Acumino

Acumino means ‘to build skills or acumen’, and that perfectly captures what we do. Our focus has been to make the AI training of robots to perform tasks in very diverse environments (homes, warehouses, hospitals, businesses, etc.) faster, safer, more accurate, more scalable, and more cost effective than any method currently used. Our solution meets each and every one of those goals.

Our new approach to robotic training come from our taking a different approach. Our two founders have decades of experience in training data for complex AI systems for large tech companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Apple, Google and others – and recognized early on that robotic training at scale was largely an unsolved problem. Three years ago, they joined forces with one of the top researchers in robotic grasping and manipulation and developed a hybrid solution that uses robotic technology and human-in-the-loop strategies to develop a solution that is orders of magnitude faster and cost efficient than training methods currently used.

Star Robotics

We design, manufacture, and sell autonomous mobile robots for security, inspection, assistance, and defense markets. We have developed our own mechanics, electronics, autonomous navigation, cloud, and artificial intelligence technologies which allow us to configure custom-made solutions for each market. Our vision is based on offering products and services that operate in human real environments while focusing on robustness and reasonable costs to achieve competitiveness from the beginning.

KiwiBot

We offer the largest robot delivery infrastructure in the world by connecting businesses that want to utilize our robots for last-mile delivery. We’ve designed our robot to serve as the bridge between humans and technology, designed with compassion to serve you in your community for generations.

Inovo Robotics

We created Inovo Robotics to make capable, versatile, robotics accessible to all. We address the problems growing businesses have in automating repetitive, hazardous, or precise tasks. We believe there is a better way and want to free your staff from the monotony of repetitive tasks so you can focus them on more valuable and rewarding work. We also believe in putting you in control by providing intuitive, easy-to-use interfaces, so that configuring our robots for your specific task, is as easy as possible.

Burro

We’ve built a smarter farming system using user-friendly, autonomous robots that work side-by-side (farmworkers to make agriculture more productive and sustainable. Each Burro increases the productivity of a 6 to 10 person harvest-crew by 10% to 40%+ while simultaneously laying the base for more autonomy where it is needed most.

BotBuilt

BotBuilt creates sustainable, affordable housing components by leveraging robotic labor in a climate-controlled factory setting.
