On December 16th our staff and partners met virtually to celebrate and toast the year’s achievements!

This year was certainly not what anyone expected. In January, MassRobotics celebrated the long-awaited opening of our expansion with Governor Baker, Boston’s Mayor Walsh, our founders, residents, and the community. We began to settle in and enjoy the benefits of new offices, expanded conference rooms, well equipped kitchen, spacious labs, and a wonderful event space, when COVID hit and changed everything.

Our team and startups showed great resiliency. Some startups pivoted to support and provide solutions for the COVID challenges, others focused on their business. We also attracted several new startups and grew more than 50%!

Our team shifted to the virtual environment and our events drew a broader audience. Our Signature Series focusing on specific vertical industries (Logistics, Defense, Manufacturing, Construction) helped showcase our partner’s thought leadership as well as our startup’s technology and solutions. These sessions were recorded and can be found on our YouTube Channel.

We completed and celebrated several partner challenges including the Panasonic LiDAR Challenge, Mitsubishi Electric Startup Engagement Program, GM Gripper Challenge and Analog Devices Sensor Fusion Challenge.

Our working groups on Drones, AMRs, Autonomous Vehicles and Healthcare have been meeting to work on specific ideas to drive development and adoption, thanks to our volunteers who help coordinate those initiatives.

Efforts to inspire the next generation of roboticists continued with our Robot Stories, Robotics STEM kit series and more.

This booklet highlights and celebrates our achievements over the past year. We are grateful to our partners and supporters who have truly made it all possible. We are optimistic about the year ahead and look forward to what 2021 will bring.

From our entire MassRobotics team, cheers to 2020!
