Introducing MassRobotics

We are excited to post our first blog as we launch the MassRobotics web site!

Over a year and a half has passed since the co-founders first discussed the concept of a robotics innovation hub based in Boston, MA. Since that time, the team has been hard at work crafting a powerful mission and taking the necessary steps to bring the concept to life. Through these efforts, and with the help of a stellar board of directors, we anticipate the continued successes and growth of MassRobotics.

We would like to recognize and thank our board members for their support and participation:

Colin Angle – CEO & Co-Founder: iRobot Corporation

Ken Gabriel – CEO & President: Draper Laboratory

Tom Hopcroft – CEO & President: Mass Technology Leadership Council

*Tim Rowe – CEO & Founder: Cambridge Innovation Center, Co-Founder: LabCentral

Daniella Rus – Director at CSAIL MIT

Daniel Theobald – CTO & Founder: Vecna Technologies

C.A.WebbPartner and Co-founder: Assemble Venture Capital

*Board Chair

Executive Director

We have found a recognized and accomplished leader in the robotics space to direct and lead the initiative.

Thank you to Tom Ryden, founder and former COO of VGO Communications , for accepting the position. Tom has been the MassTLC Robotics Cluster co-chair for many years and is well respected as a leader in our robotics community.  The entire MassRobotics team has been engaged with Tom from the beginning and he has been providing advice since our initial concept meetings. He is passionate about seeing MassRobotics be successful and we are very fortunate that he has stepped into this role.

We will use this site to keep you informed on our progress, scheduled robotics events, local robotics news and thought leadership pieces.
