SUMMARY:The 7th Int'l Conference on Machine Learning\, Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems(MLPRIS 2025)
DESCRIPTION:The 7th Int’l Conference on Machine Learning\, Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems (MLPRIS 2025) will be held during July 18-20\, 2025 in Kunming\, China. The conference will cover issues on Advanced Control and Detection Technology\, Artificial Neural Networks\, Audio/Speech Recognition\, Music Analysis\, Multimedia Systems\, Biometrics\, Biomedical Pattern Analysis and Information Systems\, Data/web Mining and Knowledge Discovery\, Human-computer Interaction\, etc. It dedicates to creating a stage for exchanging the latest research results and sharing the advanced research methods in related fields. MLPRIS 2025 is designed to be an interactive platform\, fostering the exchange of the latest research findings and innovative research methodologies within the relevant fields. Attendees will have the opportunity to showcase their research progress\, discover emerging trends\, and network with fellow professionals in a collaborative environment. \nKunming\, also known as Yunnan-Fu\, is the capital and largest city of Yunnan province\, China. It is the political\, economic\, communications and cultural centre of the province as well as the seat of the provincial government. The headquarters of many of Yunnan’s biggest corporations are based in the city. The city was of great significance during World War II as a Chinese military center\, American air base\, and transport terminus for the Burma Road. In the middle of the Yunnan–Guizhou Plateau\, Kunming is at an altitude of 1\,900 metres (6\,234 feet) above sea level and a latitude just north of the Tropic of Cancer. As of 2020 census\, Kunming had a total population of 8\,460\,088 inhabitants\, of whom 5\,604\,310 lived in its built-up (or metro) area made of all urban districts but Jinning\, not conurbated yet. It is at the northern edge of Dian Lake\, surrounded by temples and lake-and-limestone hill landscapes.

SUMMARY:Drone Working Group
DESCRIPTION:We are hosting our next Drone Working Group (DROWG) meeting on July 22nd\, 4:00 – 5:30pm (EST). Matt Borowski will be sharing information on: \n“Building Smarter sUAS for the Edge: Aligning ModalAI’s Product Roadmap to Advance Trusted Autonomy Across Defense and Commercial Markets” \nA little about ModalAI: \nThey are accelerating access to advanced Qualcomm-based autonomy by removing technical barriers for small drone users operating at the intersection of defense and commercial innovation.    Matt will discuss near-term product priorities with customer needs across both mission-driven and market-driven domains. As demand grows for secure\, intelligent\, NDAA-compliant sUAS\, we must ensure our VOXL 2-based platforms continue to set the standard in perception\, autonomy\, and communications—whether they’re deployed by U.S. warfighters or innovators building next-gen commercial robotics. \nMatt also shared this DIU opportunity that was released this week.  Here’s a summary: \nThe U.S. Department of Defense\, in collaboration with the UK\, is seeking innovative Low Collateral Defeat (LCD) solutions to counter small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) in environments where civilians or critical infrastructure are nearby and broad-impact countermeasures are not feasible. The goal is to identify scalable\, precise\, and integrated technologies—kinetic\, energy-based\, or capture-based—that neutralize drone threats with minimal risk to non-targets. Selected solutions must rapidly integrate with existing defense systems\, operate across diverse environments\, and be ready for testing within 60 days of a prototype award. This opportunity may lead to significant follow-on production contracts without further competition. \nHope to see you here at MassRobotics or on the virtual Link. \nMassRobotics DROWG \nPlease join my meeting from your computer\, tablet or smartphone. \nhttps://meet.goto.com/255355997 \nYou can also dial in using your phone. \nAccess Code: 255-355-997
